
1 - 16oz pkg | dried green or yellow split peas |
4 oz | smoked sausage links, sliced and quartered |
5 c | water |
1 - 14oz can(s) | chicken broth |
1 md | onion, chopped |
2 md | carrots, chopped |
1/2 tsp | dried basil |
1/4 tsp | dried oregano |
1/4 tsp | black pepper |
Transfer sausage to plate. Place 3 cups soup into food processor or blender and process until smooth.
Return pureed soup and sausage to Dutch oven. If soup is to thick add water until desired consistency is reached and heat through.
Soup is good for the soul,you know, and this soup truly hits the spot....It is so tasty and just plain delicious...
